Serious question here (love idea for tournament) but the player cards show players who are either ranked in top 1000 in 1v1 which I thought was not allowed or they have a P/H ranking. Were the requirements changed as to who would be allowed in?

Yeah, I initially started being quite strict about rank requirements but in the end being worse than top 1000 and getting enough players who were fun to watch was hard and so I let people with fewer games but higher ranks in. As for H ranks, they obviously haven't practised in a while so I'm not bothered mostly.

Here's my personal self celebrating high lights of the tournament:

Me eating weet a bix on stream

I just think this is my personal ode to all that is great about this game, and its community, and I really think it conveys the true meaning of competitive spirit, esports, and professional casting.

I think our theories on German cloaking technology are another testament to this great, balanced and thrilling multiplayer game :D

Yes Kluge you mean the one about captured Jewish and Russian artists being encouraged to paint the side of the JPIV in real time to show what's behind it? Glad you enjoyed it, and we made a very good cast team, looking forwards to our future professional collaborations! :D

This tourney was really needed. Thanks for putting the effort in. I'm so noob at this game I could have entered and have no shame in it. Swiftsabre...give me a shout if you ever feel the need to embrace your inner Bear.

That's cool. Was just asking. Would like to participate next time because I thought I was DQ'd by rank and didn't want to be a smurf

There's always next time if you like.

And thanks for the offer, but I am afraid I must categorically refuse, I don't do clans.

Watch this space for Beginners’ Tournament 2 where we can provide more excitement, lend a hand to more lower level players and iron out some of the inconsistencies that were around in Beginners’ Tournament 1. Next time we’ll be looking to drop the faction picking rules and make the ladder requirements slightly fairer to all involved.

I feel less bad about going out in Round 1 to TigerKonigs now I know he got 3rd place! Well done Tiger!!

Just wanted to say thanks to Swiftsabre and the other organisors, and looking forward to the next one. Hopefully I won't get so unlucky to pull a blooming Ace in Round 1 :D

Great way to introduce some new people into the 1v1 game mode, which imo will always be far superior to anything else. ;)

Well hosted & played. GG's

Very glad you liked it. There'll be another one in the future I'm sure, just not this year.
