Sign-Ups

The sign-up thread for the TFN World Championship can be found here.

You will be required to submit your Steam username, Steam display name, region and preferred start time.

We will attempt to accommodate people as much as possible; we understand that particularly on the Friday, many of you will have work or school. When we publish the brackets, if you know that you will not being able to make the time selected for you, please let Tommy or FatalSaint know.

The signups will close on June 21st. 16 players have been invited with 12 accepting, leaving 116 spare slots. Any players who sign up after this point will be waitlisted; this does not mean that you will not participate in the tournament, only that you are not guaranteed a slot. We typically experience 30-50% no-shows during tournaments so even if you're the 200th sign-up, there is still hope!

The naming convention for the tournament is simple; be sensible. The tournament creators reserve the right to ask you to change your in-game Steam name at any time; failure to cooperate will result in your disqualification.

Arrival, Tournament Start and No-Shows

Please be in the TFN Steam chatroom 15 minutes before game time to meet your opponent. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your round then you will be immediately disqualified. If you are unsure of where you are supposed to be, contact a referee (see bottom).

If your opponent does not arrive after 10 minutes of the stated start time they will be disqualified and you will advance to the next round.

If you require a break, this may be granted at the discretion of the referee and your opponent.

Anti-Cheat

To deter cheating with the use of third party tools, you will be required to either use Screenshotter v3 during your matches to take screenshots at random intervals, or to stream your games. If you are unable to meet either of these requirements you will not be allowed to participate. You can download Screenshotter from here. If you choose to stream, you must allow time for a referee to review the footage before allowing you through to subsequent rounds, or request that a referee watches your live broadcast.

Commanders and Intel Bulletins

All Commanders are allowed. Intel Bulletins are DISALLOWED. Referees will be checking but your games will be INVALID if Intel Bulletins are used. Thank you for your cooperation.

Day 1 Group Stage

Each group will be assigned a separate bracket. There will be a single elimination between the 4 players for each group to find a single victor who will advance to day 2. Rounds 1 and 2 will consist of a best of 3

Day 2 + Day 3 Brackets

  • Round format: Brackets are a best of three on the same map (with the exception of the finals, which are a best of five). For the first two games, you play one as the Soviets and one as the Ostheer.
  • Starting Army: The top bracket player plays Soviets first.
  • 1-1 tie: In the event of a tie, the VP leader (the player who has held the greatest number of total Victory Points after the first 2 games) may choose his/her faction.
  • Remember to take a note of the VP count at the end of each game. Players will be expected to calculate this themselves; if a miscalculation is made but the third game is played anyway, the decision to stand the result or force a replay is at the referee's discretion.
  • Qualification: The winning player, scoring 2-0 or 2-1, advances to the next round.

Game Settings

  • Naming convention: Players in-game names must match the name shown in the sign-up thread.
  • Game setup: 1v1, 500VP, Standard Resources
  • Faction Choice: For the Day 1 Group Stage, players will each play one match as the Soviets and Ostheer. The order does not matter. For Day 2 and Day 3, the player in the top bracket will play Soviets first, and rotate for each subsequent game. No mirror matches will be permitted in any round.
  • Replays: Players must save all replays. The referees can, at any time, request a replay from each player even if it is from the same game. Failure to produce a replay may result in disqualification.

Judgement

  • Rules: If any problem occurs that is not covered in the rules, the final decision will be made by a referee.
  • Wrong settings or server crash: In the event that matches aren't played by the Game Settings rules as outlined above or the server crashes, the decision to replay the game or grant a qualification will be made by a referee.
  • Kicking: Kicking anyone from a game will lead to your immediate disqualification.
  • Cheating: Using third party tools to bypass the fog of war or gain other such advantages will lead to your immediate disqualification. The use of Gridkeys and scripts is allowed.
  • 1 minute rule: If a player drops from a game within the first 60 seconds of a game, the game must be replayed. If a drop occurs after this point, you may restart the game at your opponent's discretion. If a disagreement occurs, contact a referee who will make a ruling.

If you have any questions or queries, during or prior to the tournament, contact a referee.

THE REFEREES DECISION ON ANY MATTER IS FINAL
